Tooth Fairy Box

Hi Bev here with a tutorial on how to create this lovely tooth fairy keepsake.  I actually cut one of these a couple of weeks ago when my daughter lost her first tooth! big night in the Edwards house that night.

What you will need:
  • Silhouette Cameo/Portrait
  • Colourful Cardstock
  • White Cardstock
  • Glue
Step One

Open up a new page in your Silhouette Studio and import the design from your library.  It is the Tooth Fairy Box by Sweet Afton Design ID#133427.

Ungroup the design as you will need to separate a couple of the elements to cut on the different cards

Remember to group the elements again as it makes them easier to move around the page.  I chose to use the cut settings for patterned card which allowed the cut to be clean and easy (I had previously tried with other card settings and, well lets just say they did not make the final product!)

Move the elements you wish to be cut from the patterned card into position and all other parts of the design off of the mat on the screen.

Repeat this with the white card stock  until all of your pieces are cut.

Step Two

It is now time to assemble the design.  The perforation marks on the main body of the box make assembly very easy indeed.  It is quite a small design and can be fiddly but take some time and it will work effectively.  I used a cotton bud dipped in glue to almost paint on to the folded flaps.  It meant application was more precise.  Use the glue to adhere the wand to the front of the dress and the front of the dress to the main box.  The wings are glued to the back and once it has dried your box is ready for money (or a tooth) to be placed inside.

Our tooth fairy left a box and a certificate at the bottom of our daughters bed and when she woke in the morning, the look on her face is one I will never forget.  Truly magical!!

I have enjoyed sharing with you and can't wait to see your tooth fairy box creations!
